If you want bike to rebuild for work project, or want parts for another XXX, this could be what you desire. Price recalibarated based on questions and feedback from various interested parties, and additional info hopefully cleared up, so thank you all for that. am the second owner, purchased XXXX, and put about XXK on it. The CVT belt blew out in June XXXX (what my shop, various Burgman forums, and believe with XX.X% certainty without actually going inside and doing the surgery): haven't the skill set or equipment to get in there and fix it myself, and don't want to put that much into the bike to have my shop do it (XX-XX hours of labor is my shop's estimate). If you want this bike to run again, the absolute minimum parts investment you??ll need is the belt. That said, please note: NO MECHANIC HAS GONE INTO THE TRANSMISSION, so seriously, this is the LOOSEST STARTING POINT POSSIBLE, and am not making any claims that the CVT belt is all you will need. rings, collar, adjusters, shims, and seals? Dunno. My shop said the pulley assembly ~likely~ would need only cleaning to make sure nothing is gummed up from belt remnants, but again, caveat emptor: NO ONE HAS LOOKED INSIDE. The engine does turn on and turn over (which has not been done since June). What I??m trying to emphasize is, if you??re mechanical go-getter, and labor to you is an interesting adventure and not an emotional drain, you could get another XXk miles out of an otherwise solid bike for decent investment. Case in point: up until the belt blew, the bike was workhorse (Sturgis, VA, Boston), ridden nearly year round (approximately XXX miles per week commuting) and maintained, but it's made its last run for me. To be clear, part X: the title is clean. It??s listed as salvage, but have the title. To be clear, part X: you will have to tow the bike. To be clear, part X: you will need to pick it up in person so the title is transferred properly. To be clear, part X: you should probably live in state, because unless you are towing it yourself, towing fees add up. FULL(ER) DISCLOSURE: an FX light came on two years ago, and although forget the code when former shop ran the diagnostics, it signified that the clutch system and engine weren't "speaking" to each other to determine optimal CVT belt positioning. This issue was resolved in later models by housing that communications system in one place, but the wires and connectors, according to previous shop, were clean, and the bike was has had been safe to ride (I rode to Boston, Kansas City, and maintained my commute with the light coming on).On Sep-XX-XX at XX:XX:XX PDT, seller added the following information:please note: this item is only for sale to bidders in the United States, and it is highly, ~highly~ recommeded that you be in Illinois so that it is easy for you to X) pick it up in person (not proxy or shipping agent) and X) so that can sign the title over to you.
On Sep-XX-XX at XX:XX:XX PDT, seller added the following information:...and then typed "recommended" too quickly, but you get the point. thanks!
