Get yer winter project bike now and beat the rush.
This bike is XXXX KXXRT US market, authority subtype, sometimes referred to as RTP(police). Saddle is single seat with rear box for authority equipment and electronics. Bike is equipped with heavy-duty alternator (XXA vs standard XXA), ABS, heated grips, electric windshield, authority crash bars front and rear, and hard cases. Gas tank has interesting lockable compartment on top (what for?). Bike is cosmetically rough and showing its age and service, with some fairing cracking, chips to paint, and various holes drilled to mount authority equipment (removed, not available).  Body work side panels, muffler cover present, just not shown on bike pictures.  Will be on bike when conveyed.  There is no gross evidence of being down at speed, but crash bars do show some evidence of scratching.  Locking compartments to fairing, left and right, functional, keyed to ignition key.   Rear tire new, has less than XXX miles usage; front tire has adequate tread but shows its age by cracking in grooves, should be replaced. Battery replaced X/XXXX. Driveshaft lubed XXX miles ago (Molykote). All driveshaft splines have minimum flat .XXX", mostly more, no knife edges. No steps observable to load bearing faces. Universal joint slightly notchy, but serviceable. Would re-inspect next rear tire change. Brakes bled, fluid changed X/XXXX.  Engine starts readily, runs smoothly.  Gears shift smoothly, stays in gear, and clutch engages and disengages appropriately. Lights, turn signals work.  Two charging/accessory sockets work, one to handlebars, one to engine left side.  Integral hard cases good condition, have all locks present and functional keyed to ignition key, no cracks to cases.   Mileage may vary slightly from picture, since bike is ridden occasionally to sort it out for sale.
Nothing is known about maintenance history of this bike before this owner.Haynes and Clymer manuals and small pile of new and used parts convey with bike.  Disconnected heavy-duty power supply also conveys.
Title is clear, not salvage. Title VIN matches VIN stamped on frame left and right. See pictures. Lookup of VIN shows manufacture XXXX (P), Xrd month (serial #s XXXXXXX-XXX). Engine ID is of different format XXXXXXLXXX(weekXX) XX(year)XXXX(production that week). See picture.   had no trouble titling this out-of-state bike.Registration/taxes paid thru X/XXXX.
Known maintenance items not addressed:Aluminum gas tank perforated at weld seam. Was patched with epoxy. Should be replaced. (This is common problem with these older Kbikes. Many are running around patched.)Speedo operation sometimes erratic. (Another problem of these older Kbikes, usually due to intermittent electrical connection at plug, back of speedo).ABS light stays on, indicating ABS nonop (may respond to bleeding and reset).Rear disc brake spongy (air somewhere in lines?) Electric windshield raises/lowers, but sometimes needs slight help (needs lubrication?)Windshield is frosted, shows its age. Probably needs replaced or polished.Fuel level sender in tank nonop; gage at instrument panel works. Used known good in-tank fuel level sender conveys with bike. Low fuel level light sender (separate sender) and low fuel light at  speedo works. Water temp gage at instrument panel, lens heavily frosted, but gage works. Temp reading is visible and appropriate.  Lock mechanism to rear box behind saddle nonop, latch broken.CAUTION: kick stand down warning light does not light. This feature had been removed for authority use.  It is possible to ride off with kickstand down.
Despite long list of not addressed maintenance items, this is mostly basic wrenching.  There's sound bike in there somewhere for someone willing to take time and effort to work the list.
$XXX deposit to Paypal, end of auction, remainder in cash on receipt of bike. Seller will assist in shipping (I have had good experience using Freightcenter.com). May ride to new location. Depends. Seller reserves right to end auction early if local sale. Prospective buyers may call Bob, XXX-XXX-XXXX for questions.
