Bought this motorcycle couple of months ago with grand plans to make nice winter project & spend more money than it's worth to refurbish. It was listed here on Ebay & craigslist. Shortly after buying, bought some rental properties and will be busy for long time. Starting no reserve bid at basically what have in it and won't take less. really like this little bike and will simply roll in my shed if doesn't sell. To be correct, it'll need pipes, someone in past, welded both into one. The brochure shows upswept pipes for this model which are hard, if not impossible to find but the part book also shows level pipes as an option and these can be bought. Fenders & tail light bracket are from different models. Needs speedometer cable. Unsure about rear shocks, never seen any that were chrome but dates are X/XX & X/XX. Previous owner said it needs stator but haven't had time to checkout issue with this. There are obviously cosmetic paint issues but didn't care since I'd planned to restore. Now the good! Typically starts first kick. New tires. New rings per previous owner. Matching #'s Less than X,XXX Tomahawks made over year period. I've only found X-X pictures online of this actual year model so fairly rare bike. Have clear title in my name. Have old titles dating back to XXXX. Can store for reasonable period. Paypal or cash accepted.
From Graham Scarth:Your bike is XXXcc Indian Tomahawk that still has matching frame and engine.It was dispatched from the Redditch factory on the XXst March XXXX to the Brockhouse depot at West Bromwich (UK) for subsequent export to the USA.WX XXXX on front is what we call true engine number stamped in the motor shop when then they built it.HDN XXX on front is the repeat gearbox number copied from the Albion gearbox fitted to it. You will find same number on top of transmission if still original. XT XXXX on left side of engine was copied from the frame it was fitted to on the assembly line to pair them off. This dual stamping ceases for the XXXX model year with the motor shop then stamping their number on the left side (repeat gear only front from then on).
