Offering verynice, and certainly unusual XXXX Indian MT-XXX. Not something you see everydayfor sure. Mostly in original condition as it came from the factory in XXXX,this little bike has been tuned up, cleaned up, painted, and detailed toshowcase its originality. With not muchinformation out there, the best guess is that less than XXX of these MT-XXXswere manufactured in XXXX, the last year of production by Indian.Featuring aMinarelli motor with Mikuni carburetor, both as originally spec'd at the time. Everythingworks as expected: the motor, front forks and rear shocks, clutch, gearbox, brakes,etc.Stored in aheated garage and ridden sparingly, the bike starts up right away when cold andafter couple of minutes of warming up screams with authority and power in away the smaller Indian XXXcc and XXX cc models simply cannot achieve. Acquired afteran amateur restoration, necessary repairs were made over the past year to bringit as close to original and as period correct as possible.The carburetorwas overhauled and many parts were replaced. These include: new black Ourygrips, custom fabricated air filter, throttle cable, seat cover, and numerousfasteners. The correct original coffin-shaped gas tank, fenders and correctfiberglass side panels were all professionally painted using quality auto bodypaints and primers. Apologiesinclude dried and cracked original tires, and an incorrect seat from an MI-XXX.The cover is new but the seat is not the correct MT shape. This has proven tobe difficult item to source so far. The frame, engine, and some miscellaneousitems have been rattle can sprayed, and would benefit from professional job,there are some chips and scrapes here and there. Also dent in the front rim,hardly noticeable but it is there, as well are some rusty spokes, and smallchassis parts. It is anabsolute blast to ride and can attest that it turns heads anywhere andeverywhere it is seen.The bike is aliving, breathing antique, lovingly cared for and tended to, ready to beenjoyed by someone who passionately cares for the preservation of these uniqueicons of motorcycling history.A great additionto any Vintage dirt bike collection or as rider racer.
