You are bidding on very original zxX that is becoming harder andharder to find. Not sure I'd say rare but they are definitely gettingthere! I originally bought this bike to restore withhopes of tearing it down to the frame and making her perfect again but have Xother bikes that have to keep up so it doesn't appear I'll have time. Ipaid bit too much for it but my loss is your gain, just really wanted afirst generation ZXX Black and Gray as like to ride my collection (green is abit too bright for my taste) but again, just no time to get to it so I'lllikely just pay way too much for restored one. Anyway, don't have lot of history on thebike but it's most certainly great candidate for restoration as it'sVERY complete, original and unmolested. Even the wiring looks fullyintact whereas many of these bikes were butchered for crappy lockhart phillipsjunk back in the day. Mind you, this is not collector conditionbike, she has over XXK miles on her and was delivered to me pretty dirty soI've simply cleaned her up, flushed the tank and got her to run reasonablywell. In fact, just today took her to about XX+ MPH and mile run tothe gas station and back with no issues. No leaks whatsoever, everythingelectrical including switches, lights, signals, taillights and brake sensors(for the taillight) work perfect. Bear in mind, she was little hard tostart at first and could likely use really good tune up and maybe even carbscrub as it appears she was in storage for quite some time as it was lastregistered in XXXX. Fuel wasn't horrible when dumped it but it wasgetting close so if you wanted this for "rider", plan on cleaningout the carbs. She shifts just fine, brakes ok but not an amazing"grab" so perhaps some braided brake lines would be good idea. I have no idea how long tires have been on the bike so again, maybe thosecould get switched out for some fresh rubber as well. Above aside, here's recap of what can see. Tank is in ok shape, the right side is still quite shiny, the left sidehas could dings in it, likely from ladder or something falling on it instorage. The front of the tank where the tab mounts to the frame doeshave crack so that would need to be welded if you kept and fixed thisparticular tank...even if was restoring, would keep and fix as it's betterthen any of the used tanks see on Ebay (see pic to understand the crack I'mspeaking of). The plastics: Not great but definitelyuseable. The sides are ok other then scrape on the one side, tailsection is in good shape other then some minor scrapes in the paint fromrubbing against items in storage. Upper however does have broken outsection as you can see in the picture, by the signal. Speaking ofsignals, all the stock signals not only work perfect but they are in prettygood shape with no major rash or anything...mirrors are fine too. The frame and swing-arm: Frame swing-armhas no cracks, scrapes or dings whatsoever. It does however has somepaint scratches likely from when it was worked on over the years or improperlyresting the tank on the frame. If you're going to restore, you would wantto paint or powdercoat the frame. restored ZXXRR while back...really quite simple. Swingarm is all good as well but bitdirty, I've been cleaning it up but the cool thing about the older ZXX's is thebraced swingarm from the factory, very trick at the time. Motor runs quite well, takes bit of choke andwarming up but the more start her the better she's doing with no smoke, noknocks, no crazy valve noise...overall pretty nice motor. Oil lookspretty clean as well. She shifts perfectly, no issues with transmissionor clutch that can tell. Gauges, brights, all lights, ignition andlocks work as they should. Bike is all stock other then an ohlins rearshock as you can see from the photo. Bike has CLEAR CA title and currently under aNon Op so fees would be minimal if you're in CA. I just ordered newtitle from DMV week ago, it will be here within two weeks. I can giveyou bill of sale or you can hold back XXX until give you the title....itwill be here shortly. Just to be XXX% clear...if you're looking for abike to ride back and forth to school or work, probably not this one but ifyou're into classic sportbikes and want one to restore that will appreciateover the years...this is perfect candidate! I watch them all veryclosely, late XX's and early XX's sport bikes for sale that is. It'sreally hard to find bikes with clean titles, clean frames and haven't beenchopped up..especially considering it's coming up on XX years old, I'd love torestore it myself but I'm now sitting on too many projects!. PS: No extra parts are included, not the stand either asit's really not made for this bike. Ideally spool stand would workbetter.
