Paul Rooney built off-road BMW's are legendary. He has built GS safari bikes and bikes that have traveled around the world (in some cases up to x!).
This bike has the Australian safari engine (now brand new) without the lighter crank and fly wheel.
Strong, powerful, light, robust and dead easy to work on are some of the words used to describe them. Everything is accessible, seat off XX seconds, tanks off XX seconds, electrics exposed to work on XX seconds it's thats simple.

The front end is from Honda CR XXX, the shaft drive from an XXXX GS and the RXXX GS frame is strengthened and modified.
Paul builds his own unique exhaust and collector system and simplifies the electrics such that pretty much everything is easily worked and sits behind the fairing.
They really are works of art. If you ordered one today, (if Paul is doing any more), then it would be several years and likely well over $XXk to build.

RXXdifferential (imported from Germany)The rear wheel (XX") and brake is from RXXXGS. The front brake disk is wave disk.The swing arm is from an RXXXX but the suspension pivot point has been moved toprovide better traction in rough off road conditions.The sub frame is shortened and it and the frame are both from an RXXXGS.The tank is XXL The steering head has been raked and extended for better cornering. It has XXXmmfront disk and dirt star XX" rim.The carbs are Mikuni XX slides and as new.The gearbox was completely disassembled with new Xnd and (higher) Xth gears and tallerXst fitted.All up the bike weighs around XXXkg. 
Paul recently rebuilt the engine and other parts of the bike, including new big bore kit, the electrics, the rear shaft and diff bearings, carbies, starter motor and starter switch, new speedo, oil gaskets filters and rings, replaced the headlight and fairing and more that can't remember it was serviced from top to bottom and everything that looked like needing replacement was, it cost around $Xk. You can speak with Paul about the bike he will be very direct and helpful.
I am only selling as need the to purchase boat at price that is favourable. have short period of time to complete so its quick sale or no sale and I'll keep it.
I picked it up from him after few months in his workshop about weeks ago and it has done < XXXkms since and is not yet run in.
It's on club plates and will be sold unregistered.
