This XXXX DUCATI XXX SPORT is late production model. Registered in XXXX but probably XXXX to XXXX model by which time the Elite XXX version was well into production. This bike was assembled under license in Spain by MOTOTRANS. The XXX Sport was available in Spain later than in Italy where most XXXs were ended around XXXX. The Spanish XXX and later XXX models used all Italian built parts except for the following improvements: Stronger clutch with extra plates noticeable by the bulge in the primary cover. Stronger clip on bars with two bolts each side instead of one. The gas filler cap positioned higher to allow for about half liter of more gas. The welded tags on top of the Italian tanks were eliminated (probably because nobody liked strapping things that damaged tank top paint). The Spanish assembled bikes came with an Amal XXX carb which actually has the advantage of being much cheaper to replace than UBXX Dellorto! Aluminum rims instead of chromed square edged rims. Late XXXs came with the adjustable Elite style adjustable rear shocks. Speedo reads XXXXX kilometers (approx. XXXXX miles) but this XXX is almost XX years old so actual mileage is unknown. have lost the Amal velocity stack but have ordered new one that will be included with the sale. These early model Spanish cousins are just as well finished as the Italian counterparts. Later in the XXXXs Mototrans tried to cut corners with quality and the XXX "XX hour" model got poor reputation. Called the "Veinte cuatro horas" it became nick-named the "Veinte cuatro horores"!! This bike has been many years part of my Los Angeles collection of Italian motorcycles. It was my intention to restore it to it's original gold and burgundy colors. Meanwhile have assembled the bike with many new parts in order to make sure everything was up and running. Brand new quality German piston with new cylinder liner. Complete top overhaul with many new parts. Complete new Silentium exhaust system. New seat from Italy. Correct new spokes. New clip-ons and controls. New battery, headlamp rim with reflector and new chain. XXXcc. Overhead cam stroke. speed. volts. Good running condition. Needs finishing in the right colors and few parts chromed. Great potential! have no time to do the final touches so hope this fairly rare bikes goes to Ducati enthusiast. Clear California title in my name. This is Ducati and is registered as Ducati. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles). Please call XXX XXX XXXX.On Sep-XX-XX at XX:XX:XX PDT, seller added the following information: Responding to questions regarding the gas tank filler cap please note that this model did come with the sporting quick release cap as opposed to the screw on bakolite cap on the Italian version. On Sep-XX-XX at XX:XX:XX PDT, seller added the following information: Front tire is brand new. Rear tire is very good used.
