The creation of one of the British motorcycle industry's most prolific and talented designers, Val Page, BSA's new single-cylinder range debuted in XXXX. Intended mainly for the sidecar man, the sidevalve model, the XXXcc MXX came with rigid frames, girder forks and four-speed, hand-change gearboxes. Ruggedly built and endowed with copious low-speed pulling power, both models were highly successful in their intended role as sidecar tugs and many MXXs did sterling service as despatch riders' mounts with Allied forces during WWX. The duo were regularly updated, important developments prior to WWX including the adoption of foot-change gearbox. Production of the MXX ceased in XXXX.

The example offered here, of XXXX vintage was recently liberated from Northern California collection. Thought to be restoration project, the bike was treated to little mechanical re-commissioning when we realized the bike is in truly excellent mechanical condition under that patina. Brake hubs were dismantled and the interior parts looked like new. The bike started within couple of kicks and runs exceptionally well. It starts easily, idles well and has good power. The bike shifts well through all gears with good clutch. Brakes, and suspension all work perfectly, with no sideways play in the front whatsoever. Electrical systems wok as well, but it is missing speedometer. It comes with clean, clear title.

The bike is an absolute blast to ride and garners lot of attention wherever it goes. It needs nothing to be daily rider.
