Yamaha Thumper 600cc cafe racer for sale
Current customer rating: (3) based on 104 votes
Hi buyers,
I bought this tidy SXXXX from guy who had the previous XXXcc engine changed to an XT XXX electric start. The conversion was professionally done and have the invoice and the mileage of the exchange engine. This also includes the cost and labour, which is considerable and makes the conversion into more powerful and, believe, better engine than the XXXcc. The electric starter works instantly and efficiently. had an SRX standard imported bike many years ago and it was awful to start, so an electric starter was an essential requirement.
I have had the bike for nearly three years now and have really enjoyed the odd short blast around the lanes near where we live. The single runs faultlessly it handles and stops superbly as they were designed for and retain the characteristics of an old cafe racer, but having reliability and, of course, that lovely tone that thumper sounds through its exhaust.
I have always maintained the bike, changing the oil regularly and keeping it indoors when not in use. The brakes and tyres are all good and recently put on new battery for this summer. The seat is not torn and the rear suspension is mono shock. The rear tyre is bigger than the UK SRX and think it is better balanced bike to look at. added the fairing last year to enhance the cafe look, which was trying to achieve. The features of these bikes are that they are light and nippy and return great mpg.
The bike has an expensive aftermarket silencer which sounds just great. There are marks on the tank: scratches and few small dents. The alloy is clean and could be polished more if needed. The bike is good looking and presentable for its age and now becoming rarity. am not after fortune and it will give someone some affordable fun. have not MOTd the bike as yet but will if any one makes sensible bid which is over the reserve. Remember that this not new bike and does have marks and scratches. only want money, no swaps. The cost of courier, for bike, is not expensive in the UK. Please, no messers as time is so valuable and hope someone finds this bike as much fun as have had.
I have decided that after years of riding bikes that now is the right time to give up on my fun hobby. My wife is constantly worried when take to the road on the thumper and so with heavy heart have decided to let the bike go and allow the new owner to enjoy some years of riding.
