For sale,my Yamaha RX year XXXX which is the last of the carb models which equals to super smooth creamy power delivery....If you are after perfect model in 'just left the factory' showroom condition,keep looking.....in the three and bit years that have owned it,I have used it for commuting and the very occasional bit of touring as in actually using it rather than polishing exercise......so expect the odd scuff,minor usage scratches and stonechips....However,mechanically,the bike is sound and is wanting for nothing and ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.....The MOT was in February and the advisories were;rear tyre to be replaced soon,rear disc lightly scored and oil misting on the front forks.So,new Michellin Pilot X's on the front and rear,a disc (not brand new) fitted to the rear and this Saturday XXrd April is booked in to have new seals on the forks at BikersRealm in Welwyn Garden City where they have worked on the bike over the years that I've had it.Work carried out over the time has included;new (OE Yamaha) fork stantions,new clutch and cable,Exup stripped and greased and major servicing...including fresh brake and coolant fluids.A new regulator and battery was fitted couple of years ago.Oil and oil filter change religiously every X-X thousand miles as do believe that it saves wear and potential damage to the engine.About XXXX miles ago changed the fuel filter and fuel lines,in my time of ownership have always used premium fuels.Rear brake pads are almost new and the front are about X/Xrds left of their life....I bought replacement swingarm and had it powder coated in satin black,fitting new Yamaha bearings at the same time as the existing one was looking little tired,the original swingarm is included in the sale.Also included is spare set of wheels and discs which purchased as back up should get puncture whilst on my commute.The front tyre and discs are still good on the front of the spare however the spare rear is in need of replacement......
I bought the motorcycle from neighbour so have known the bike for about X-X years of its life,always stored in garage.
The VX is in my name and the address printed on it is where the bike us kept.X keys in possession.
Overall the bike is in good fettle but (not in my ownership) has had very light fall on the left side resulting in the fairing having graunch high up near the bar and also on the rear of the seat unit,a few strategically placed stickers would hide the damage but that's not my thing,I'm honest as can be.Also on the seat unit the plastic has cracked near the mounting bolts which is renown problem on these models and the model before it.Hopefully the photos will show the condition of the bike as pretty good but with the odd scuff,scratch and bodywork crack....
I bought stainless steel pro bolt set so as have worked on the bike,I have been replacing various bolts and fixings including the screen bolts and fairing bolts....The pro bolt kit also included engine bolts which haven't used but included with the bike.....Harris Engineering crash bungs...
So to summarise,a superb classic second generation RX in good order with fresh tyres,new fork seals and recent (yesterday) oil and filter change...Spare front and rear wheels with discs...Original swingarmRecent MOT with advisories sorted.Stainless ProBolt setHaynes manual....It's had use but still superb ballistic motorcycle.
Cash or bank transfer is the payments accepted.Please come and have an inspection of the bike,I live in Welwyn GC Herts.Will assist motorcycle collection driver should you wish to have the bike collected....Test rides are always tricky thing to organise so pay for the bike in full and if you are not happy within XX mins then you can have your money back..I'm pretty sure that you are going to love it though...Please remember that although the bike is ready for viewing now,the fork seals are booked to be done next week...
