When it comes to sport bikes, few are as iconic as the Ducati XXX/XXX/XXX series. Designed by Tamburini (who later went on to design the gorgeous MV Agusta FX series) and sporting XX degree, liquid cooled, fuel injected, four valve per cylinder (with Desmo actuation) twin, this series of bikes was for more than just show. The SPS ?�� or Sports Production Special- edition was an evolution of the XXX (with XXXcc capacity it offered XX+ HP over the standard engine). The power plant remained largely unchanged from the previous generation bike, but with lighter weight components and more performance oriented rear suspension now sourced from Ohlins, the SPS was higher-spec bike all around when compared to the standard XXX. With titanium conrods, larger frame tube diameter with thinner walls, wider frame/larger carbon airbox, PX "big brain" ECU, higher compression heads, hotter in/out cams,lightened engine internals, and Ohlins/steering damper, the SPS was the top of the Ducati line in its day. This is rare and beautiful specimen: Immaculate SPS with Foggy look Paintjob. Tons of extras, some of them are "one off" as this bike was the model for German based former Ducati, MV Agusta and Porsche accessorys and parts manufacturer (Norton SP) and was only ridden on the road for test purposes.. No track!! Look at the photos, people who know these bikes will see what makes this one unique.
The Paintwork has beautiful finish. The stripes are not decals, all the graphic work is under layers of wet look clear with perfect "billiard ball" like finish. The Fairing is FullCarbon "one off" manufactured by Norton SP. Frame is gold with real gold in the paint. The same paint was used on the private Aircraft (Boeing XXX) which the Saudi Royal family use. Lots of Carbon bits and clutch slave cylinder that wont break your fingers. XX tooth TSS clutch which while still being noisy is not as noisy as standard SPS clutch.
This Bike is German model where it is currently located. Only one previous keeper from new and the Xnd keeper (Norton SP) has had the bike since XXXX but never registered it. If sold it will be Serviced before delivery from known German Racing Team mechanic who??s speciality skills are with Ducati, MV Agusta, and BMW.ps. Kentucky plate was put on cos it looks good ;-)
