Triumph T160 Trident 1975 'N' reg for sale
Current customer rating: (3) based on 34 votes
Triumph Trident TXXX XXXX. Owned by me since XXXX. It's U.K bike with matching numbers. have the original bill of sale from new in XXXX.
Just MOT??d with no advisories.
Now classified as historic so ??X road tax.
The speedo says XXk but the true mileage is unknown and to be honest is irrelevant on the basis of the work that has been undertaken.
The engine has been rebuilt including oil pump/bearings/rebore with new pistons camshafts etc. Rebore and oil pump by David Rowles of R.E.D. www.redXmotorcycles.co.uk. The cylinder head has recently been rebuilt with new valves, valve guides and seals by TMI engineering www.tmiuk.com
Everything in the engine was stripped cleaned/replaced as necessary oil and fuel tanks have been cleaned. have of photos to prove the work done and around ??XXXX invoices for parts alone.
The bike has done a few hundred miles on the main engine rebuild and hardly any since the head was rebuilt. Technically it??s not even run-in, and is oil tight. Original fuel tank has been repainted black/white in the past with alloy flip cap fitted. was going to have it repainted in cherry/white, but the black has grown on me over the years so have left as is. The exhausts are replicas of the original black caps, but are actually an open design making for an awesome sound.
Lucas Rita ignition
Matching engine and frame numbers
Huge amounts of historic paper going back to the early XX's including old MOTs and the original bill of sale in XXXX from 'Streamline Motorcycles' of East Dulwich (sadly they no longer exist and the premises is now tile shop...)
Alloy rims Twin disc conversionBraided brake hosesLoads of other parts replaced including shocks/seat ?? too many others to list
Does it need anything? The starter worked ok ish originally but since the engine has been rebuilt it is struggles. have never been concerned as it actually starts very easy on the kickstarter. It may be better with modern battery. The Amal carbs could possibly do with setting up little better to suit the exhaust, but it has plenty of power and ticks over fine. Cosmetically, the fork ears and the starter cover and possibly the grab rail could benefit from re-plating, but the rest of the brightwork is either new or in very good order. The tyres are ttXXXs. They look as good as new and don't seem to have gone hard, but please bear in mind they are over XX years old so replacement would be advisable. Why is it for sale? The usual. have number of bikes and not enough time to enjoy them all. After XX years, will be sad to see (and hear) it go.Please note will let the auction run, there is no 'buy it now' and don't ask about the reserve.
I believe have described the bike honestly and would ask the winner of the auction to at least view the bike. If they do not wish to go through with it, then don't have problem, obviously want the bike to go to good home.
Cash or bank transfer on collection please. Delivery is possible by negotiation, but for longer distances it would be best to organise courier, as they are pretty reasonable these days.On XX-Jun-XX at XX:XX:XX BST, seller added the following information:My error Speedo actually says XXXX miles not XXXXXmiles! The trip meter indicates the mileage have done XXX......!
